February Youth Culinary Passport – China (Ages 9–12)
Program Dates February Thursdays\ 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM\ February 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th Give your child the chance to explore the world through food in this immersive, month-long youth culinary experience.Youth Culinary Passport – China is a four-week series designed for curious 9–12-year-olds who want to build real kitchen skills while discovering global culture. Each week, students explore Chinese cuisine as a gateway to understanding geography, regional traditions, ingredients, and culinary history. Classes are fully hands-on — kids cook complete dishes from start to finish while building confidence, knife skills, kitchen safety, and teamwork. To deepen the experience, music from China plays throughout each session, and visual displays provide cultural context such as maps, regional imagery, ingredients, and historical references. The kitchen becomes a classroom where food, culture, and creativity come together. This program emphasizes curiosity and confidence. Students are encouraged to explore flavors openly — loving some dishes, questioning others, and learning how tastes can be adapted and evolved. Every class is designed so there’s something each child connects with, while gently expanding their palate and perspective. The final week culminates in a special showcase experience, where students synthesize what they’ve learned and welcome their families in for a tasting and celebration. February Youth Culinary Passport – China (Ages 13–16)
Program Dates February Wednesdays\ 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM\ February 4rd, 11th, 18th, 25th Designed for curious teens ready to go deeper,Youth Culinary Passport – China is a four-week immersive culinary and cultural experience that uses food as a lens to explore the world. This monthly series goes far beyond a traditional cooking class. Students cook complete dishes from start to finish each week while exploring Chinese cuisine through regional identity, history, geography, and tradition. Along the way, they refine knife skills, kitchen safety, organization, timing, and independent execution — all in a collaborative, hands-on environment. To deepen immersion, music from China plays throughout each session, and curated visuals appear on the classroom display to provide cultural context — including regional maps, historical references, ingredients, and culinary traditions. These elements help students connect what they are making in the kitchen to the world it comes from. Taste exploration is central to the experience. Students are encouraged to try boldly, express preferences honestly, and learn how flavors can be adapted. Loving a dish and questioning a dish are equally valued — both are part of developing confidence, discernment, and a personal culinary point of view. The final week of the series brings everything together in a culmination experience, where students elevate techniques and welcome their families in for a tasting and celebration of what they’ve learned.
